Monthly Recap · April 2023

April went by so fast. The more I went through my photos and thought about the month, I realized how much I had actually done this month and how little I remember from the month because it was gone in a blink.

On Good Friday, my cousin and I went to see Super Mario Bros. and I loved it. When we got home around midnight, I still had to dye eggs and get my basket together. But, in character, I got it together last minute.

My mom bought me this egg cooker. Not spon, but I use it ALL THE TIME.

Growing up on Easter weekend, we used to spend Holy Saturday at my mom's godparents' house and Easter Sunday at my grandma's. Since the godparents moved and my grandma passed away, traditions have been a little bit up in the air. This Holy Saturday, we went to my aunt's house to get our baskets blessed and had brunch with them.

I've already posted about this, a huge highlight of the month for me, but I saw the Book of Mormon earlier this month at the Cadillac Palace Theater. Ahead of the performance, we ate at the Randolph Tavern (where I had the veggie burger) and it was delicious. They specialize in people coming to eat before seeing a show and their service was phenomenal. We were in the theater just in time.

We hit a week of incredible weather here in Chicago and I was able to spend a lot of time outside, usually playing Pokemon Go, but it's been refreshing to get outside. I'm rebuilding a relationship with movement and I think the weather getting better has been aiding in that reconstruction greatly.

We had Record Store Day this month, which is one of my favorite days of the year. I have a separate post coming up about this year and what a ride it was, but I wanted to include it in my monthly round-up, too, because it was a surprisingly exciting day. More on this day later on. <3

Wrapping up the month, my cousin and I went to see Columbia College's Sunday in the Park with George. It was in their campus theater, which was perfect for the performance as it was so intimate. They projected the painting onto a screen, which was a spectacular visual. I didn't take any photos inside of the theater, but I did take a few photos in the city.

I'm ready for a new month, for warmer weather, for the cusp of summer. I have a few small goals for May that I'm looking forward to working on and towards. All good things. May flowers and all that.
