2022 Goals & Such

I started to stray from the gimmick of resolutions in the new year because they usually roll over, or I forget about them halfway through the year. However, 2022 brought a new energy with it and I think it derives from big changes that took place in 2021. One week into the new year, I'm riding the high of change and evolution and I wanted to share some of the things I am looking forward to working on and working to this year.

Developing a Better Relationship with my Health
July 2021 I started seeing a weight loss doctor and that was a highlight for me. This year, I want to continue with her, but also take some for other parts of my health. I'd like to gain some control of my mental health. While I'm in a better space than I used to be, I've learned more about myself and I'm interested in seeing where that comes from and what mentally creates me.
  • Annual OB/GYN appointment
  • Two dental check-ups
  • Check-in with PCP
  • Start seeing a therapist

Figuring Out my Personal Style
This is something I'll get more into, especially getting into my previous style and exploring what exactly makes me who I am and how to bring that out in myself. I want to refresh my clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I want to spend more time experimenting with hair cuts and colors. Taking the time and spending the money on me this year and discovering what makes me feel most like me.
  • Purging clothes
  • Using hangers to keep up with what I am/am not wearing
  • Routine appointments for hair & eyebrows
  • More sustainable clothing and jewelry

Get on a Better Financial Path
My biggest goal for 2022 is to get out of debt, minus my federal student loans, and to watch my spending. I've given myself a no-spend goal for the year, which I'm doing my best to stick to. While it isn't so much so I spend absolutely no money, it's to really step back and reevaluate what I'm buying and where my income is coming from/if purchases are worth it.
  • Pay off debts
  • Daily budget/bank account check-in
  • Savings account = 6x monthly expenses
Some miscellaneous (ha!) goals to be included:
  • Write that book
  • Create more
  • Utilize my resources
  • Read more non-fiction
  • Craft more
This year, I'm focusing on me and what is going to make me happy. I keep putting a time limit on everything thinking about having kids and starting a family and taking those next steps and how that should all happen soon, but none of that is concrete. Things should not be on hold for something looming that doesn't exist and I want to do what is best for myself right now and that means making me the focus of this year.

I hope you're all having a great new year so far. I'll have some new photos up soon as I want to talk about my trip to the Bay Area via cross country train.

  1. Love all the goals, especially finding your style! It's so important because it's an easy way to figure out who you are and what you want in life! I hope you can find your favourite styles this year! :)

  2. Happy New Year! I agree with Minaeshi, the personal style goal is essential. There's nothing like pulling on an outfit that makes you feel precisely like yourself. I'm with you on wanting to purge/pare down my closet as well. And there's also nothing like a new haircut or color! I cut my hair short in 2021 and it was so fun! :)
